SELAH Think on That

Selah is a term used by the psalmists of the Old Testament, often inserted between stanzas of their works. Many scholars believe it meant “think on that” directing listeners to give extra consideration to the words previous.

The very thing that Bible writers exhorted their readers to do then, is what evangelical Christians are criticized for failing to do now, that is ‘to really think‘. Many in the media and in pop culture minimize believers as thoughtless drone followers of outdated dogma and elite leaders. I think if honest about it, we could agree that there is merit to the charge at some level for all of us.
